It looks like I am just about ready to harvest my first ‘Blush’ tomato of the year.

Isn’t it pretty? If you’re unfamiliar with this variety, there’s good reason for that. It’s only been around for a couple years, and is offered by just a tiny handful of seed companies. In fact, my seed is from Seeds of Change, and that may be the only source at the moment.
[Note: If you haven't checked out Seeds of Change yet, you really should. Great seeds — 100% organic!! — with a focus on rare, heirloom and open-pollinated varieties.]
I grew ‘Blush’ last year, but got a much-too-late start with the plant, and then lost the entire harvest to a poorly-timed deer visit. So, I still haven’t tasted these gorgeous tomatoes. Hopefully, in just a few days, that will change. I’ve read the fruit described as tropical and reminiscent of pineapple. I’m thinking of bright, summery salsas, salads and toppings for grilled fish. Also, of course, fresh snacking.
‘Blush’ is an open-pollinated variety. With luck, I should have some seed to offer this fall. Stay tuned!
Are you trying any new varieties in your garden this year?

Hi Norbert – I confess I don’t speak French, but I think you’re asking for a source for the ‘Blush’ tomatoes. Try Seeds of Change: http://www.seedsofchange.com/garden_center/product_details.aspx?item_no=P137900.
